PlantConnect AQMS server in CPCB completes one year of operations

CPCB as the central regulator and watchdog has been tasked to monitor pollution levels across industries in real time. This initiative of monitoring live pollution data stemmed from increasing pollution levels in urban and rural areas due to growing industrialization. In a step to actively monitor and regulate industry pollution levels, MoEF in conjunction with Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) issued directives to specific types of industries (like cement, power etc.) to provide real-time pollution data to CPCB. This data needs to be provided without any manual intervention creating a direct link between gas analysers installed on chimneys and solution deployed at CPCB office.

Ascent Informatics developed PlantConnect AQMS according to exact requirements of CPCB in particular and that of air quality monitoring in general. First implementation of this solution was made for Forbes Marshall Codel (FMC). The product was received very well by CPCB officials and on 15th September 2012, PlantConnect AQMS went live in CPCB office on behalf of Forbes Marshall Codel. Many industries have been connected to this solution feeding live pollution data.

In addition to this, AIPL also provides the solution as a service (SaaS) model for smaller analyser manufacturers to cater their customer base without being required to invest and manage overheads of server set up and operations on ongoing basis.
